French Toast, Cronut, Birthday Cake and London Fog.
Beautiful space and feel to the store right in the heart of St. Catherine's where the food scene is growing and changing everyday.
They make everything in house and there are different specialty flavors that change everyday.
Delicious 100% vegan donuts and a perfect treat to eat in or take out.
$1 from every Cinnamon Sugar they sell goes right back into the community to support the YWCA Niagara.
If you bring a clean, reusable container for your doughnuts, you will get 10% off your doughnuts.
They sell out VERY fast because of its popularity! So be sure to go early or on weekdays.
You can never go wrong with any flavor there I believe but if I could get a box delivered to me here in Alberta, I would get a dozen of the French Toast and Cronut flavors. They were to die for.
Anything seasonal or limited edition is a must so that you will not filled with regret later.
I was there a weekday and there wasn’t too many people in front of me. I was greeted and asked for what I wanted. The service here was alright. Nothing special and transactional at the time. I did say it was my first time there and that I was going to be taking a few photos for the blog. The interaction was very limited.
The doughnuts were amazing. I could not believe that they were 100% vegan. It was moist, rich and extremely flavorful. You would expect a tub of butter to be in it but quite the contrary.
As I mentioned, the French Toast doughnut was my favorite. It was extremely flavorful but not too sweet. Just a perfect doughnut. It had a great crunch and bite to it as well.
The cronut was my second favorite. It was also unique to the taste and the texture was typical to a cronut. Also not too sweet but subtle in taste.
Whenever I go to any dessert shop or bakery and if there is anything London Fog on the menu, that is what I will order. The London Fog flavor was delicious! It was sweet but also full of earl grey flavors. This flavor along with the Birthday cake one is something you need to enjoy sparingly with a huge glass of milk as it can get quite overwhelming with its sweetness.
The birthday cake flavor reminded me of the crumb cake from Momofoku Milk Bar as it did have crumbs with sprinkles as toppings. It was very sweet as the doughnut had a filling of whipped cream or a type of frosting. I shared half with my mom as I could not have the whole thing.
Great bright and airy store with a great atmosphere.
Open brick concept with art on the walls really make the place very beautiful. I also particularly love the moss and plant frames that hang on the walls as well.
There aren't any tables or chairs for you to dine in as this is mainly a take out bakery. However there is plenty of space by the window if you would like to stand and enjoy the doughnuts.
The bakery also gives you a view of the industrial baking area where all the yummy doughnuts are made. Open concept kitchen and viewing area makes Beechwood a unique bakery.
I cannot wait to be back in the GTA to get back here and sample more flavors! I miss this place everyday. Give it a try and tell me what you think!
