Located in the newly built Calgary Central Library downtown Calgary.
Such a great addition to have a little café in the library amongst books.
Be aware that there are two Luke's café in the library. One is a little café in the library itself on the second floor. They serve beverages, soft serve and some desserts. The second location is one that you have to access from outside the library but somehow part of the library. Just navigating and trying to differentiate the two was confusing but I finally managed to find it.
The soft serve was delicious. Very subtle in flavors and not too sweet. The blueberry was a bright purple and the strawberry was a light pink, almost white in color. I initially thought the purple flavor was an ube one but I was pleasantly surprised regardless. I would definitely get this again as it was very delicious. If you check out their Instagram, you will see from time to time there experiment with different flavors. Be sure to check it out!
The Chai latte was also very good. Creamy and full of flavor. I opted for the no sugar one as I was already having soft serve. It did go together well and I fully recommend it.
The art work for the cups and coffee sleeves were beautiful. It gave so much character to the café and surroundings.
The café is a fairly simple one but compliments the décor and design of the library extremely well.
The interior of the library is not only amazing but is so modern and very well done. It was one of the best public libraries I have ever seen. The little café fits perfectly with it and is a great place to grab a bite and read a book.
I will definitely visit Luke's Café every time I happen to find myself in the Calgary Central Library. Also, I will give the full restaurant/café a try as they have more options and food.
