6 samples of Glacier Rye, Classic Vodka, Alpine Gin, Vanilla Vodka, Espresso Vodka and Birds Eye Chili Vodka ($20 for 6 samples).
Located in the heart of downtown Banff amongst various other tourist spots.
Full service restaurant and bar as well.
They make every their gin, vodka and rye on site with glacier water.
Nothing so far.
Everyday at 3.30 PM, there is a complimentary tour available for about 10 people maximum I believe. Spots go really fast so be sure to call and book to ensure a place. After the 30 minute tour, you are then able to go for a tasting which you will have to pay for but it is well worth it because you get to try everything this distillery has to offer.
The food on the menu looks amazing and the cocktail list is also very impressive. Be sure to try something from their breakfast, lunch or dinner menu. The gin, rye and vodka selection can be seen infused in some of the food items. All meat and other ingredients are foraged and sourced locally.
Service was great on the phone when I was booking a spot for the tour. They only had one spot left but I had a party of two. When we got there they made it work and the both of us could get on the tour.
The tour itself was a lot of fun and very educational. The tour guide was very friendly and answered all our questions.
Front of house as we walked in was not too bad. Polite and friendly.
There is a retail store as you enter the restaurant where you can buy bottles of vodka or Park Distillery merch. The service there was just OK, very transactional and bland. However, everything else beyond that was great.
My favorite from the 6 samples was the Vanilla Vodka. It was so smooth and rich in flavor. You really did not need to pair it with anything else. Would definitely buy an entire bottle.
The Espresso vodka was extremely bold in flavor and had a strong coffee taste to it. Wonderful to pour on desserts or spiking your morning coffee.
The Birds eye Chili one was SPICY! Great first taste and then it hits you in the aftertaste. Try it if you are feeling adventurous.
All the flavors of vodka is infused with all natural ingredients and not artificial flavors. Coffee beans from a local roaster is used as well as actual birds eye chili is put into individual bottles. The Vanilla vodka is filled with actual vanilla pods and that’s why the flavors are very strong and natural.
They do not have to look far for the best ingredients: water from glaciers in the Rocky's as well and spruce pines for their rye.
As you enter the restaurant, you are greeted by dark walls and wood interiors. It has a ski chalet feel and caters to the year round winter and its surroundings.
There are art pieces on the walls ranging from vintage photos of Banff to huge murals of the Rocky's.
Cozy and comfortable are words I would use to describe the restaurant. It feels like a great place to have food and warm up.
The distillery section of the establishment was also good to see. Although small, they do produce a lot of bottles in a small amount of time. Seeing what goes on behind the scenes was also eye opening and very educational.
I did not get the chance to have food or cocktails here as this was just a short stop over for us. As we now work in the area, I will be sure to visit Park Distillery again for dinner. If you are looking for a place to grab a bite, try to work in the tour before of after your food. It is something that I would 100% recommend.
