What I tried:
Decaf Latte, Regular Latte and Coconut Almond Biscotti.
Located in the quaint and ever changing town of Dundas.
An offshoot of the very popular Detour Coffee Roasters that have been supplying coffee to local café's and retail stores since 2009.
A great addition to Hamilton's growing coffee shop scene and because it is in Dundas, it stands out and makes its mark.
The latte is a great choice to try out their coffee.
They have plenty of desserts and pastries to try from. Everything looked delectable and heavenly.
When I visited the café, there was a rack to the side that had freshly baked breads of all kinds. I was very tempted to buy the whole rack. Give the breads a try!
My cashier and barista were very friendly. The barista even helped me take a photo of the menu as I could not get a good shot.
The lattes were great. Very rich and subtle notes of caramel and dark chocolate. As I cannot indulge in caffeine, the decaf was on point and did not lack anything.
The biscotti was delicious. Not too sweet and paired well with the latte. I wished that it was a bigger portion however it was very affordable.
The décor was very cozy. Pastel greens and pink filled the room and it brought a very quaint and great feel to the place.
It had big bay windows with wooden chairs to sit by. Plenty of tables and room for groups to sit at.
Adjacent to the café is a beautiful patio for more customers to sit in.
The café had very minimal decorations and fillers, but that’s what makes it beautiful. It does not need much to make it a great space. The lighting was also a huge contributor to the feel of the room. Perfect lighting as it was a cloudy day as well.
It is a fantastic place to work, study or just spend time with friends or family.
I would definitely visit Detour Café again! I would want to try more things on the menu, especially their lunch and freshly made pastries.
