Hours: Monday-Friday 11AM-10PM, Saturday-Sunday 12PM-10PM

Reservation: No

Price Range: $$

What I tried:

  • Signature Fried chicken (Hot Chick, The King, Taiker).

  • Combo (With fries and Coleslaw).

Pro:

  • Monga has a few more fried chicken flavors vs other Taiwanese fried chicken chains.

  • Located conveniently on Yonge Street among other eateries.

Con:

  • It is a little pricey for the combo meal that comes with fries and coleslaw which are just subpar. The fried chicken is definitely the star and next time I would probably order it without the combo.

Must Try:

  • The Hot chick was my favorite. Spicy but did not kill.

  • The King was the "original" Taiwanese fried chicken and the Taiker has a seaweed coating.

Service:

  • Transactional and nothing special.

  • Fast and polite.

  • 3/5

Food:

  • The chicken itself was succulent and juicy. It was extremely delicious and full of flavor.

  • Also an extremely large piece, classic as far as Taiwanese fried chicken goes.

  • The fries and coleslaw was OK and nothing to rave about. You can do without it.

  • 4/5

Atmosphere:

  • Black and red interior.

  • Great layout in either booths or bar seating.

  • Order and pay and they will bring your food out.

  • 4/5

Overall:

  • Monga was delicious and I will definitely go back for the chicken specifically. Give the "Hot Chick" a try and you will not be disappointed.
