What I tried:
Chicken and Gyro Combo Small/Large
I dined here on the grand opening weekend and a few months later. I had the same dish.
Pro:
The Halal Guys is a very famous food cart in NYC with long long lines because of their incredible gyro meals.
Being a huge fan of this food cart and never missing an opportunity to line up every time I am in New York City, I was jumping for joy when I found out they were opening a full dine-in spot downtown Toronto.
Great location and about a 15 minute walk from Younge and Dundas.

Con:
Maybe waiting in line for hours in the cold to get some meat from a truck had some spark of magic because it did not feel or taste the same coming from a restaurant. However, when I say not the same I mean like a 5% difference because this is by far the best gyro plate I have had.
Must Try:
The two meat combo is the best way to try it and with everything on it (salad, pita, sauces).
Extra white sauce and light on the hot sauce (trust me on this).
The hot sauce holds legendary status as it is no joke and will be your downfall if you have too much.

Service:
Very quick and transactional but effective.
4/5
Food:
Exceptional and very delicious. Try it during rush hour or peak times as it is fresh and very good.
5/5
Atmosphere:
Very bright yellows and reds. A Middle Eastern McDonalds some might say.
Crowds, metal chairs, the smell gyro meat being grilled, and big windows looking out onto the hustle of Yonge.
5/5
Overall:
The Halal Guys have a very special place in my heart because I associate it with my time in NYC and enjoying it with friends and family. Give it a try and you will not be disappointed.
